Zachari Dunes On Mandalay Beach, Curio Collection By Hilton, Oxnard

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The room was spacious with beautiful ocean views, but it felt old and dated, and there was a lingering smell in the hallways. The check-in process took longer than expected, which was a bit frustrating. On the upside, the location right on the beach was stunning, but there were some issues with kids in the Jacuzzi and a lack of supervision around the property.

I stayed with my teenage Girl Scout troop at this hotel and overall had a mixed experience. The rooms, although down the hall from each other, were comfortable with a great balcony for enjoying views. However, they had a musty smell and were heavily scented with strong cleaning agents. The service was okay, but my husband had some issues with the staff not being well-trained and not providing WiFi information at check-in. The location was convenient for visiting nearby attractions, but the lack of care in room maintenance was noticeable. The dining experience was decent with a good spread of food but lacked in quality in some areas.

Upon reserving the room online, it was not ready more than an hour after check-in, but the rooms are large and great for families. The hotel is located above ours, which could present some noise issues at times. The service was very helpful and accommodating to a request for a room move, with excellent customer service overall. However, we encountered rude staff who seemed to act like it was a chore to assist us. The location is ideal, directly on the beach, which is very broad and uncrowded, making it a perfect spot for relaxation. The dining experience was plentiful with cooked-to-order omelets, but we had dirty dishes for our entire breakfast. The facilities are beautiful and well-maintained, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
